Take an adventurous road trip through the wonderful Central North Island –how well do you know it? Featuring the regions of great Lake Taupō, National Park country of Ruapehu, the wine country of Hawke’s Bay, and Tairāwhiti-Gisborne –where you are first to see the light of a new day! With activities and options including sailing, hiking, wine tasting, cycling, geothermal and forest bathing, stingray encounters and Gannet safaris -this is a famil for those seeking destinations for active clients wanting to get ‘Off The Beaten Track’. This 5-night, 6-day ESCORTED famil is hosted by the participating Regional Tourism Organisations, and is limited to 10 selected TRENZ buyers -Buyer criteria applies. Starts Friday May 9th in Rotorua and buyers will be flown back to Auckland Airport Wednesday afternoon/evening May 14th.
Itinerary:
Day One: Taupō
Options today include: Secret Spot Hot Tubs, Orakei Korako, geothermal soak at Wairakei Terraces, Huka Falls Jet
Day Two: Taupō / Ruapehu
Taupo Sailing Adventures to Maori rock carvings, followed by Tongariro River Rafting (Site), Owhango Adventures (site) and short alpine hike.
Day Three: Ruapehu
Options today include: Forgotten World Adventures (Railcarts), Whanganui River Adventures, Adrift Tongariro (Tongariro Alpine Crossing)
Day Four: Napier – Hawke’s Bay
Options today include: Gannets Safari Overland and Takaro Trails, Rosewood Cape Kidnappers.
Day Five: Tairāwhiti-Gisborne
Gisborne Rail Bikes and Cycle Gisborne
Day Six: Tairāwhiti-Gisborne to Auckland
Eastwoodhill National Arboretum, Matewhero Wine Tasting, Dive Tatapouri, Flight to Auckland.
