4 Days / 3 Nights – Auckland > The Coromandel > Bay of Plenty > Rotorua.

A chance to enjoy the coastal splendour of the Pacific Coast Highway & experience geothermal Rotorua on the Thermal Explorer Highway.

DAY 1:

Depart Auckland on the Pacific Coast Highway and enjoy a coastal drive around the firth of Thames to the Coromandel Peninsula. This drive will take approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours. DAY 2:

Enjoy a morning in Coromandel, perhaps visit Cathedral Cove or Hot Water Beach where at low tide you can dig a hole and enjoy a soak in the warm water or partake in one of the many coastal or outdoor activities on offer. Make your to Tauranga, this drive will show you some stunning parts of the Pacific Coast Highway. Overnight in Tauranga from a choice of accommodation. DAY 3:

Enjoy the morning in the Bay of Plenty, before driving to Rotorua. On arrival in Rotorua home to exciting geothermal activity, there are a wide range of accommodation and activity options to choose from please see Rotorua accommodation or activities listings for more information.

DAY 4:

You have a full day in Rotorua today to enjoy the wide range of activities on offer from a lake cruise, immersing yourself in Maori culture, visiting the geothermal areas and spas to adventure tourism – Rotorua has so much to  choose from. From here you can opt to continue on the Thermal Explorer Highway to Taupo or head back to Auckland via the Hamilton & Waikato Region, time permitting stopping off at Waitomo Caves before returning to Auckland. The drive from Rotorua to Auckland takes approximately 3 hours 20 minutes.
